Vocational Training
Technology that made they in social fundraisingThe Prevocational and Vocational units provide a bridge for the easy transition of persons with special needs from school to work, keeping in mind the aptitude and physical and mental ability of each individual.
Prevocational unit
Students learn functional language and mathematical skills needed for following any vocation in the open market.
Kitchen Unit
A group of students learn through hands on work as per his/ her ability. Training is given in all kitchen related activities e.g. peeling, rolling, frying, identifying lentils, chopping vegetables, preparing meals, snacks, sherbets etc.
Stitching Unit
Each trainee is individually supervised to first learn the basic stitching skills and knowledge of different types of machines like a simple machine, a fashion maker machine, a computerized machine, inter locking machine etc leading on to embroidery patch work, quilting, pattern making etc.
Art & Craft Unit
This section consists of drawing and painting with different mediums and paper craft. This medium helps students to pour out their inner most thoughts, resulting in the production of unusual and beautiful art pieces – Paper craft lends itself to the production of every day useful material through unique ways. Block printed wrapping paper, cards, paper stationary, decorative paper weights, colourful paper hangings, office table accessories are all expressions of the student’s imagination.
Skill based training unit
The students are taught to learn operating various kinds of machines like photocopy, lamination, spiral binding, popcorn making, knitting, tea coffee making, spice grinding etc in order to prepare themfor different kinds of jobs.
On job training programme
This programme focuses on job related skills to the students who have learned technical skills in the vocational training center at Disha. The candidates are placed in different departments of the center under the supervision of senior staff, like at the reception, library, classrooms, therapy departments etc. The trainee is exposed to learn skills and behaviorally adapt to work related responsibilities.
